Balance

Crawling along a ledge haphazardly
I’m slipping on the edge of sanity
with knives in the soles
of feet out of control
sliding down the sharp edge by gravity.
Already centrally divided,
schizophrenically two sides collided
make the thin edge of a wedge
where I crawl along the ledge.
Terrified of falling, I slide.
Here inside where my heart hides
I endure the roller coaster rides

Are You My Love?

Are you my love ?
Are you my only one
After all the others have gone?
Will it last this time?
Can I trust and believe in this?
Are you my love?
I can tell you how I feel when you touch me –
Preciously cherished and valuable.
I can tell you how I feel when I touch you –

A Touch of the Sun

The river water is cold and cleanses

And I looked with fondness at a boy whose cough
reverberated in his chest like [...]

Dreams

Dreams are what you make of them.
They entertain your sleep,
Most of them will fade away
Though some will make you weep.
But the only dreams that matter
Are the ones you make and keep
The ones that light your waking hours
And bully you to leap.
We had a dream, imagine, as some other dreamer did
That all the wars are over [...]

The Child inside the Man

There’s a little boy inside him
who’s crying his eyes out
because no-one made him favoured
because no-one loved him best.
There’s a little boy whipping himself
with remorse for the pain he’s caused
and cutting himself down before
anyone else can do it.
There are tears enough here to flood
a river. Dammed and under control,
but always surging at the walls.
There’s also a [...]
